MISSION: The Mission of the MSDI, is to proclaim God´s Image in the human person through the cultivation of deep respect, love and care for every human being, irrespective of the person´s faith, origin, race, health situation and class in the society. We are Missionaries of the “Divine Image” in each human person von conception till death. (Foundress, 2016)
CHARISM: The “Image of God in man” is the motivating force behind MSDI charism which is to proclaim the Good News of God´s Image in the human person through the cultivation of deep respect, love and care for every human being in the human person, irrespective of the person´s faith, origin, race, health situation and class in the society. These recapitulate our mission in any place we find ourselves. The MSDI Charism is aimed at preserving the “Image” of God in every human being, cognizant of the fact that God created us all in His Image, Gen. 1:26.
“We take cognizance of the fact that we are all created in God´s Image and likeness, out of God´s love for humanity. We are missionaries of this love of God for every human person from conception till death, no matter the condition of the human person” The “deep respect, love and care of the Image of God in man” is the motivating force behind the MSDI charism. SPIRITUALITY: The spirituality of the MSDI is rooted and founded in seeking conformity with Christ in the lives of members which is also the missionary identity of the MSDI; The Consciousness of the presence of God and His Image, thus the members cultivate the awareness of God´s presence in their lives and that of their neighbours at every point in time. The Divine Image creates and constantly renews fraternal communion in the community and sustains the missionary commitment of the members to proclaiming the Image of Christ for the transformation of the in the world.
Daily meditation, liturgy of hours, an hour of adoration every Sunday, daily masses, monthly recollection, and confession constitute the bedrock of their spirituality.
APOSTOLATE: The apostolate of the MSDI is the vehicle through which the Charism of the Association is concretised, and this is encapsulated into an Intergenerational-Ministry:
- Supports respectful solidarity between younger and elderly generations through which the MSDI train and empower the youth to take care of the elderly and persons requiring assisted living.
- Empower the youth through professional training with special interest in Geriatric-Nursing, Schools, Catechism, and Social Teachings of the Church.
- Take care of our elderly citizens in their different homes and nursing homes and establishing age 70 and above centre.
- We Identify, Nurture and Preserve the Image of God in the human person we encounter and with special interest on the Youth and elderly, we render our services to, and so approach each person with deep respect, love and care.
